If you want a fusion of nostalgia and the 21st century, Live Nation just might have the ticket. The company has announced they will be attaching collaborative NFTs, called “Live Stubs,” with the purchase of a US event ticket. This will begin in the summer of next year.
Live Nation Ticket Stub and NFT Combo
If you are a seasoned concert goer, you probably have ticket stubs on your wall or in a memory box. But, over time they’ve become digital and easier to access (and not as fun). Now, for every Live Nation event, the company will collaborate with the event artist(s) to create a complimentary NFT attached to each ticket.
The pandemic’s effect on Live Nation, one of the world’s largest providers of live entertainment, was crushing initially. Now, the company has come back stronger due to a rising demand, meaning bigger profits. The demand shift for live concerts is likely due to artists and fans gradually returning to their pre-pandemic ways.
“Our Live Stubs product brings back the nostalgia of collecting ticket stubs while also giving artists a new tool to deepen that relationship with their fans and we can’t wait to see what the creativity of this community dreams up as it grows.”
Michael Rapin, Live Nation CEO
Final Thoughts From an Avid Concert-Goer
I always add every artist I’ve seen perform to a list in my notes app. When a conversation is struck up, and a love of concerts is shared, I usually pull it up to see how many of the same bands we’ve seen. Now I imagine showing off my collection of concert NFTs like Pokémon gym badges because, I like to “catch em’ all.”
Much like having badges and emblems for achievements in video games, this virtual clout will make sense to those who care about concerts. For instance, you would be able to show a Kanye fan you went to see the Donda performance without having to show up in your $200 t-shirt or scroll through your iCloud for the pictures.

In short, the NFTs are meant to be collectors’ items to share, trade, and resell on the Live Nation website. The first concert collaboration on this project is Swedish House Mafia‘s Paradise Again tour, July 2022.
