“The NFT craze is interesting, because it’s a different way to see and use art. It’s sort of given us a new way to do that.”
Jason McHugh
The project released its first five NFTs on 4/20, a holiday celebrating cannabis. A portion of the proceeds will go to The Last Prisoner Project, a charity dedicated to releasing non-violent prisoners who have been incarcerated for cannabis.

Weedgang NFT: For Cannabis Nerds, by Cannabis Nerds
Weedgang, founded by a group of prominent breeders, cultivators, and cannabis leaders, is dropping a NFT collection. The NFTs depict cannabis strains to share the love of weed and put equity back into the hands of the genetic artists that created and shaped the strains of today.
Weedgang said:
“Our founders are true OGs, and we seek to pay them the ultimate respect of putting resources in their hands. They have brought together a collection of exclusive, authentic, and limited edition strains as NFTs in the hope of sharing their love of the art with the inspired audience of Web3.”
The art of each NFT represents data specific to each strain. For instance, things like color and frost density will be on display along with other strain specific traits. The more you “breed” the strains, the more unique they become.
