Once again, a hip-hop artist proudly embraces the legality of cannabis and takes advantage of the rapidly growing industry. Bay Area artist Nef The Pharaoh is the latest rapper to venture into the weed business. The rapper has opened a dispensary in his hometown of Vallejo, California called V Town Farms. This company is in collaboration with KOLAboration Ventures, who helps make the storefront and products possible.
Nef The Pharaoh enters the weed market like a bull. V Town Farms is a mega dispensary offering nearly one thousand different products. In fact, it is the biggest dispensary in the whole Bay Area. Products range from flower, all types of edibles, various vapes, to almost every type of concentrate you could imagine, and more.
Of course, the highlight of the menu is Nef The Pharaoh’s own Nef’s Breath weed. This premium flower comes packaged in 3.5 grams with a hefty price tag of $60. The custom strain is a cross between Mendo Breath and OGKB, creating a balanced hybrid. Based off of celebrities and others supporting Nef’s cannabis line, we have high hopes for the quality and potency of the flower.

A recap video of the grand opening day shows San Francisco-based artist Stunnaman02 saying, “when you breathe Nef’s Breath, it takes you to another level.” Another Bay Area rapper, FOS appears to say, “this shit fire.” The video features a song by FOS, Too $hort, and Symba titled “Pardon Me,” which also includes a Nef The Pharaoh feature.

Opening V-Town Farm’s Doors Did Not Come Without Challenge
Opening V-Town Farms’ doors did not come without multiple obstacles. California Collective Care (CCC), a local cannabis dispensary, attempted to challenge Vellejo City Council’s approval, but was denied. CCC argued that, “the large dispensary would hurt ‘mom and pop’ dispensaries in town, would bring crime to the area, and went against the General Plan and zoning codes, among other things.“
After a back-and-forth legal battle, V-Town Farms was finally given the go-ahead to open shop in August of 2021.
Nef The Pharaoh Joins Tons of Other Artists in the Weed Industry
Nef The Pharaoh joins a boatload of other rappers in the weed business, including Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, YG, Quavo, Travis Scott, Soulja Boy, Drake, and many more rappers as well. Additionally, many celebrities are involved with the ever-growing, yet oftentimes tricky cannabis industry. Some names include Seth Rogen, Martha Stewart, NBA legend Allen Iverson, Jaleel White aka Steve Urkel, and more.
