King Youngblood Gloriously Returns to Barboza And Releases New Visuals For "Too Late, Too Soon"

King Youngblood Gloriously Returns to Barboza Bringing Live Music Back To Seattle

The COVID-19 pandemic was no friend to rock-n-roll. For the last 18 months, there was a near-absolute drought of live music, and some projects aren’t coming back either. That’s not the case for King Youngblood, however. This revolution-rock three-piece is itching to get back to the fans.

King Youngblood is a rock-and-soul, anthem-slinging band. Hitting sub-genres on both ends of the spectrum of modern rock, Youngblood shoots for a bigger picture. Their motto is “Black Art As Resistance,” recalling old injustices and protesting new ones. It’s pretty hard to not give these guys a listen, especially when you combine their ideals with the fact that their music absolutely slaps.

Like for so many other artists, the pandemic was a slap across the face for King Youngblood, followed by a hazy, debilitating year. Where many might get caught up calling this reality unfair, the three friends instead chose to persevere. After all, what can you do when you’re stuck at home all day, every day? Well, the answer is a lot (if you’re willing to keep the grind going.)

King Youngblood is proud to announce a brilliant new album they recorded during the pandemic. On top of that, they’ve signed on to a brand-new label. The full-length is set to release on September 24, 2021. In the time between then and now, tons of shows are being racked up where you can catch their new music yourself.

King Youngblood Returns to the Stage This Year in a Blaze of Glory, Plus a Brand-New Music Video

King Youngblood Live This Friday

If you’re in the Seattle region this week, you’re in luck. King Youngblood is performing at the newly reopened Barboza. This venue has been around since 2012, and it was originally an automobile mechanic’s shop with a car elevator. This is one of the first shows Barboza will be hosting as it re-opens.

“We are playing some brand new songs that will be on the new album, some songs you can only hear live, and some favorites from our first album King Youngblood [title release].  We advise folks to come ready to slam on the dance floor and if you are small-boned – bring a pillow to buffer the impact!” laughs founder and leader of the band, Cameron Lavi-Jones.

Doors are open at 7PM, show starts at 8PM with hip-hop artist Nathan Nzanga opening. Nzanga just premiered his own short film music video at the Tribeca Film Festival in NYC. Working with Shoreline Community College film students, he received raving reviews for this “rap odyssey,” which you can watch by clicking here.

“We have some pretty amazing announcements to make after a year in solitary confinement due to Covid, so [we’re] hoping to see as many fresh healthy Vaxed fans as possible this Friday,” Lavi-Jones adds. “This show will be off the hook as we are officially unleashed and ready to feed the underground faithful. Buckle up!”
