The Sweet Tea strain is one of the more popular “sativa” strains available at Cookies dispensary locations across America. This edition of the strain was bred by Cookies and Seed Junky Genetics and then cultivated by the Redwood company. As a part of the North American Weed Tour, Respect My Region’s COO Joey Brabo tested this sativa-dominant hybrid strain. After picking up some Sweet Tea at the Cookies on Flamingo dispensary in Las Vegas, it scored pretty high on the charts.
According to Hytiva, the Sweet Tea strain was originally bred by legendary breeder David Bowman, aka “Subcool.” At first, he crossed the California Orange and Alcatraz OG strains, but it wasn’t finished yet. Selecting ideal females from the cross, the plants were then bred with a Space Queen male cultivar called “The Dude”. This mix resulted in a tasteful concoction that many enjoy for more than just the taste.

The Sweet Tea Strain Review
This batch of the Sweet Tea contained 24.12% THC, .347% CBGA, and 25.6861% THC-A. The packaging also indicated the strain has dominant terpenes of terpinolene at 7.286 mg, beta-myrcene at 6.818 mg, and limonene at 0.764 mg. Because of the terpinolene, Joey predicted that the strain would have hints of sweet n’ sour, piney, and an overall electric taste.
Opening the packaging, Joey noticed a Christmas tree-sized nug, just in time for the holidays. After breaking down the nugs, he immediately noted a citrusy sour aroma mixed with lemon liqueur. Upon inhale, he noted a super zesty, citrus, piney, and sour flavor, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Ultimately, Joey rated the strain 9.85 out of 10 on taste.
The bud received an overall score of 95 out of 100, only losing points for the artistry on the packaging that could have been cooler. Interested in seeing the full review? Check out the video below.
