#DEATHTOPLASTIC
The world’s leading live event company, Live Nation has teamed up with beverage brand Liquid Death to offer canned water at events and venues across the United States. Both companies are committed to ending single-use plastic bottles at events, and instead offer infinitely recyclable tallboy cans.
“Of all the aluminum produced since 1888, over 75% of it is still in current use, whereas less than 10% of the world’s plastic has been recycled.”
Live Nation began phasing out the use of plastic bottles starting in 2019. With Liquid Death being such a prominent force in both sustainability and safety practices, this partnership will help bring Live Nation closer to their goal and at a faster pace. It will also assist with keeping event goers hydrated and safe.
During a typical year, Live Nation hosts over 100 million fans. You can imagine how much plastic that results in, many that doesn’t even get recycled. With the pandemic coming to an end it was crucial for Live Nation to find a better solution to their initiative to be more sustainable.
With Liquid Death on their side, they’re moving even closer towards a sustainable future of live events. Being a leading force in live events, we are sure to see many other companies following their practices.
While this is great news for the environment, this will also give Live Nation an even better reputation as their fans have expressed that sustainability is one of the top causes they care about.
In fact, “86% of live music goers have reduced their usage of single-use paper and plastic products and 84% of live music goers state that ending the sale of single use products at live music events is an urgent priority.”
This is a win-win for everyone involved. We hope to see a domino effect with other live event companies.
