Since its legalization in 2014, the Florida medical cannabis program has greatly expanded. There are now 14 licensed cannabis companies with hundreds of dispensaries offering almost every type of cannabis product. Some of the products offered include flower, vapes, concentrates, edibles, tinctures, and topicals. Depending on the dispensary, you can find budget products or premium products that are much higher quality. Since quality is especially important in flower, we put together this guide on where to find premium cannabis flower in Florida.
There is only a little over a dozen cannabis companies in Florida. Though some offer other brands, legally, all cannabis must be cultivated in the state. What this means is that, though it may be a different brand, it is cultivated by one of the fourteen licensed cannabis companies in the state. Florida doesn’t have the worst climate for cannabis cultivation, but it certainly isn’t as good as places like the Pacific Northwest. So with a small market and legal restrictions, you aren’t going to find the quality or variety of places like California and Colorado.
That being said, there still are a handful of Florida weed dispensaries that offer premium quality cannabis flower. While it may not be near the potency as artisan level cannabis, it is the best there is in the Sunshine State.
5 Florida Weed Dispensaries With Premium Cannabis Flower
Grow Healthy
Grow Healthy may be one of the most expensive dispensaries in Florida, but for good reasons. All of their products are grown and produced at the utmost quality, especially their flower.
Starting at $50 per 8th, Grow Healthy’s cannabis flower is almost always fresh and always loaded with kief. It typically holds a strong odor and offers a smooth smoke. Grow Healthy’s highest tier is their Master Growers Series which is offered at $60 per 8th. This particular series may likely be the kiefiest flower I’ve come across in Florida. If you’re lucky, you’ll find these 8ths in “littles” for only $35 an 8th or $99 per half ounce.
Some of the beloved strains they cultivate include Queso Perro, Jilly Beans, Stardawg, Emerald City, and Bubba Kush.
Müv
Müv, which landed #2 on our list of top cannabis dispensaries in Florida, is another dispensary that offers premium flower. Because of the climate and regulations in Florida, most dispensaries have trouble staying consistent with flower quality, even those that offer premium weed. Müv doesn’t seem to have this problem though. From my own experience and observations on r/FLMedicalTrees, Müv is pretty consistent with all of their products, and especially their flower.
Almost every grind of their dense, perfectly trimmed cannabis flower will leave you with a powdery, bright green pile of bud. Depending on the strain, you’ll often find hints of purple shine through. Müv’s flower is especially known for its high terpene content and strong aroma.
Müv offers three tiers of flower. Tier 1 flower is $50 per 8th, and tier 2 flower is $40 per 8th. Tier 3, which are small buds, is their cheapest flower at $32 per 8th. According to their website, “Tiers 1 and 2 are identified based on size, structure and scent of bud and hand trimmed to showcase these features, and Tier 3 is identified by size alone.”
One Plant
One Plant is right up there with Grow Healthy as one of the most expensive dispensaries in Florida. Even though their quality isn’t as consistent as you would hope, the majority of the time they offer premium cannabis products and sought after strains, especially flower.
In fact, they are particularly known for the specific strains they offer. Two of the most popular being M.A.C.1 and Runtz. M.A.C.1 is an exclusive and highly sought after strain in the industry with only a carefully selected amount of growers out there. One Plant is the only grower of this strain in Florida. Runtz is another highly loved strain, in fact, it was Leafly’s strain of the year in 2020. One Plant is also the only Florida dispensary that offers this beloved strain. Both strains are offered at $60 per 8th of $18 per gram.
Aside from those two, you’ll find over a dozen other premium strains around that price range. You can also often find the flower on sale for much less.
But like I said earlier, the flower is not grown by the actual brand, but instead it is just the same genetics grown by a Florida grower. While it is still very premium quality, it may not fully compare to the same strain in places like the PNW.
Trulieve
With it being the leading dispensary in the state of Florida, it certainly makes sense that Trulieve has premium cannabis flower. Trulieve also stays pretty consistent with their products, especially their premium flower. They offer lower tiers of flower that are $33 and $43 per 8th, but their premium strains go for $53, $48, and $58 per 8th.
Trulieve cultivates their $48 and $58 8ths from special or exclusive genetics. Some of these premium genetics include Seed Junky, Old Hippie Stash by Bellamy Brothers, Binske, and Sunshine Cannabis.
Rest assured, these strains are typically full of kief, terpenes, and THC. Due to it being the most popular dispensary in the state, their flower gets swept up quick. They keep up though and are consistently restocking, making their flower some of the freshest in Florida.
You may get lucky and find their premium strains as small buds for $27 or $30 per 8th. I certainly recommend you check early morning on “Mini Mondays.” Likewise, you may find these strains on “Ground Thursdays” for only $25 per quarter of ground flower.
Vidacann
From my personal experience with Vidacann, and again the Florida cannabis subreddit, Vidacann is not always consistent with their own brand of cannabis flower. For instance, sometimes you’ll feel as if it’s some of the best you’ve ever tried, but many other times you’ll be left with dry, stemmy flower that has been sitting for months. But, that isn’t what I am here to talk about.
Though their own flower may not be the best, in addition, they offer products from the premium and pioneer cannabis brand, Tikun. Vidacann offers multiple Tikun flower products including Alaska, Eran Almog, Erez, Midnight, and Or. It’s so premium, it comes in a glass jar.
8ths of Tikun cannabis flower costs $50. This product line is not often in stock, so make sure to check the Vidacann website often. However, since the stock goes in and out quick, it is typically their freshest flower offerings.
