South Carolina is one of our favorite states to hit up for underground hip-hop after finding dope artists in the past such as Blacc Zacc and Renni Rucci. Now we are narrowing our focus, looking at some of the top talent in the city of Columbia, South Carolina.
In a scene that came up to recent hip-hop prominence thanks to mega-star DaBaby, South Carolina has quickly become an emerging hotbed for underground/up-and-coming talent in music.

6 Columbia, South Carolina Rappers to Watch in 2022
Mook TBG
First up on our list of Columbia rappers is Mook TBG. Noted for his melodic voice and catchy hook, Mook TBG has been coming back strong since 2020 threw everything outta whack. Dropping steady music and having a nice drip to match has gotten people’s attention even more than when we first wrote about him, so we had to show some love the second time around.
Nyketown Ju
The rest of the artists on this list will be first time features from here on out; starting it off with Nyketown Ju, who has a sort-of Young Dolph/DaBaby hybrid sound with the way he flows and attacks a beat. One of the flashier artists on this list, Ju lets you know what he’s about and that he has the means, monetary or other, to get shit done. His 2020 album, Pyrex Pots & Broken Hearts, did a lot to help Nyketown Ju. Depsite the pandemic, his track “Nyke4X” garnered over 1/4 million plays on Spotify.
Mi5ta
Mi5ta (Mista) caught our attention due to being one of the wavier artists on this list. He possesses a sound that emulates Future while still holding some of those SC roots. First popping off two years ago with his track “Brand New,” Mi5ta fans have continued to latch on and praise him as a voice of the streets. A very versatile artist, one track may be very in your face and have a “bout that life” type energy while other tracks take a softer approach and seem to be more of a reflection on parts of his past and hopes for the future.
Natalac
Natalac is about to be a breath of fresh air for those of you who miss some of those vibes from back in the day. The U.S. Marine veteran keeps it fresh and relevant to today’s music but is also like a time machine to some of those early 2000s hits we all used to, and still should, love. Really on some “P” shit, Natalac is not only a rapper but has two CEO titles under his belt with businesses named after himself. Natalac Express (trucking company) and Natalac Records are just a couple examples of what this original pimp rapper is about. With over 20 years of experience in this game, he has more than enough to offer for your playlist.
Black O
Getting towards the end of our Columbia, South Carolina rappers list, the next artist is Black O. This Columbia hip-hop artist been tearing it up over the last year or two and has even collaborated with some artists already named on this list as well as some other notable SC rappers. Working his way to the top, Black O’s name is adding some weight and gaining some respect in the game. Reminding me a bit of Maxo Kream with his deeper voice and direct flow, I can see why people are rocking with O.
Kuzco Da Foo
Last but never least, the final artist on this list of Columbia, SC rappers is Kuzco Da Foo; and he’s not one to pass up on. He also gives me some of those Young Dolph vibes, but, of course, adds in his own personality and life experiences into the mix. Jumping off the porch at a young age, Kuzco had to grow up quick and learn fast to make it in life, let alone in rap. He has worked hard and continues grinding, including a move to Atlanta at some point. The hustle has paid off with his name circulating in local and national media.
