Los Angeles-based rapper Riff Raff dropped his newest strain, Ultraviolet Pirate, yesterday at the NUG dispensary in Sacramento, California.
The exclusive strain release was a collaboration with MidZotics and is named after one of Riff Raff’s singles and his current music tour. In addition to the strain release, the rapper was there to do a meet-and-greet with the team and patrons of NUG Sacramento.

Riff Raff And Ultraviolet Private
Riff Raff dropped the strain Ultraviolet Pirate the day before he kicked off his Ultraviolet Pirate Tour in Los Angeles. Tomorrow, he’s headed back up the coast to perform at San Francisco’s Brick & Mortar. The exclusive strain release in the Bay Area was so hot that NUG actually announced an encore event this morning. Another release and meet-and-greet with Riff Raff will happen tomorrow before the concert.
This is not the first time the eccentric rapper from Houston dropped a cannabis strain. He currently is partnered with MidZotics to drop different strains inspired by himself. Additionally, he had dropped two other strains. As a matter of fact, he has been in the industry as early as 2014 when he dropped Jody Highroller. Partnered with Tryke Companies, he released a sativa called Red Carpet Kush and an indica called Lamborghini Leg Lock.
Though this isn’t his first designer weed, Riff Raff is actually not a big part of the process. Instead of colorful braids on the back of a white lab coat and him tending to the plants, picture him in a room with a bunch of different strains of weed that he gets to choose from. Though, this is not always the process for other designer weed brands with artists or athletes behind the creation. Hall of Fame wide receiver, Calvin ‘Megatron’ Johnson, has his own cannabis brand called Primitiv. With former teammate, Rob Sims, they consistently are in their grow facility.
Riff Raff is Alongside Many Other Artists and Celebrities in the Weed Industry
Riff Raff is alongside a boatload of other rappers in the weed business, including Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, YG, Quavo, Travis Scott, Soulja Boy, Drake, and many more rappers as well. Additionally, some celebrities in the cannabis industry include Seth Rogen, Martha Stewart, NBA legend Allen Iverson, Jaleel White aka Steve Urkel, and more.
