“Spotlight”
Back in the November of 2017, rapper Lil Peep died of a tragic overdose while on tour. Ever since then, it seemed like the world would be stripped of music from him. All of the artist who had unreleased verses and music from Lil Peep had decided against sharing it, out of respect towards him. However, the EDM artist, Marshmello decided to release their collaborative track, “Spotlight,” after Lil Peep’s mother had asked for his son’s music to be shared.
I didn’t plan on releasing the song until peeps mom reached out and told me she wanted her sons music to come out…what am I supposed to do? https://t.co/wpJQLvSZvv

Since Lil Peep’s passing, Marshmello has been very respectful and supportive of Lil Peep and his family. The producer/DJ has showed his love for Peep not only online through tweets, but at shows too. The following is from a show where Marshmello remixed Beamer Boy with a “RIP Lil Peep” LED backdrop to pay tribute.

Hearing Lil Peep’s voice again is oddly soothing and comforting in a familiar way; it feels like everything will be alright.
“Spotlight” is released on all major music platforms and can also be found below:
