Gundam Rogue Orbit has officially arrived at Tokyo Game Show 2026, giving players their first opportunity to go hands on with Bandai Namco Entertainment’s upcoming Gundam action game.
The Bandai Namco Entertainment booth at Makuhari Messe features a playable demo of Gundam Rogue Orbit, offering an early look at its fast paced combat, different weapon configurations, customization, and OVER RISE system. However, one of the biggest attractions goes beyond simply playing the game.
Bandai Namco has created a special Gundam Helix cockpit inspired demo station, turning the experience into something designed to make players feel like they are actually boarding and launching inside the game’s new Mobile Suit.
Step Inside The Gundam Helix Cockpit
The special Gundam Rogue Orbit station centers a massive display featuring the upper body of the game’s primary Mobile Suit, the Gundam Helix. Instead of simply walking up to a standard gaming station, players climb onto an elevated deck positioned around the Gundam Helix’s chest. The setup is designed to resemble the experience of approaching a Mobile Suit from a maintenance deck inside a hangar. Once inside, the demo station is designed and decorated to resemble a Mobile Suit cockpit.
That setup becomes especially important when starting a mission.
After selecting a mission, protagonist RE-X boards the Gundam Helix and receives a briefing from inside the cockpit before launching from a battleship and be sent directly into combat. Experiencing that sequence while physically sitting inside the Gundam Helix inspired station adds another layer to the presentation, essentially turning a normal game demo into a small Gundam pilot experience.
Access to the special station is limited. Playing inside the Gundam Helix cockpit requires either selection through the advance lottery or obtaining one of the numbered tickets distributed at Tokyo Game Show. The advance lottery for special demo station test pilots has already concluded. Take a look at how the cockpit looks below.

Gundam Rogue Orbit Focuses On High Speed Close Combat
Beyond the cockpit experience, the Tokyo Game Show demo provides a much clearer look at how Gundam Rogue Orbit actually feels in combat. Battles emphasize fast paced close quarters action, with players able to quickly close the distance between enemies before chaining together different attacks.
The Gundam Helix has access to light attacks, heavy attacks, tactical skills, and actions that change depending on the weapon equipped. Some weapons also move the Gundam Helix significantly during an attack. This makes offensive moves part of the player’s mobility, opening the door to more acrobatic combinations where attacking, repositioning, and avoiding enemy fire can happen at the same time.
Rather than relying entirely on a traditional dodge mechanic, players can potentially learn how different attacks move the Gundam Helix and incorporate those movements into their combat strategy.
Three Gundam Helix Loadouts Show The Importance Of Customization
The Tokyo Game Show demo includes three selectable presets: Assault Sword Assembly, Whip Sword Assembly, and Sword Lance Assembly.
Each configuration changes how combos and skill attacks behave, providing an early example of how heavily equipment choices could affect gameplay. Customization is already positioned as one of the major features of Gundam Rogue Orbit, and the differences between these three builds show that changing equipment won’t necessarily be limited to appearance or basic stat adjustments. Different weapons can potentially change how players approach movement, combos, enemy encounters, and their overall fighting style.
The game also features an ability called OVER RISE.
Players build a gauge during combat, then activate OVER RISE to dramatically increase the Gundam Helix’s performance. During the powered up state, incoming enemy attacks can be automatically avoided while players continue launching powerful attacks. Combined with the game’s aggressive close range combat, OVER RISE appears designed to create moments where players can push directly into groups of enemies and temporarily unleash the Gundam Helix at its full potential.
Gundam Rogue Orbit Collector’s Edition And Gunpla On Display
The playable demo isn’t the only Gundam Rogue Orbit attraction at Tokyo Game Show 2026. Bandai Namco is also displaying the game’s Collector’s Edition alongside RG Project related Gunpla, giving fans a closer look at some of the physical collectibles connected to the upcoming release.

One of the biggest pieces included with the Collector’s Edition is the exclusive HG 1/144 ARK-10 Gundam Helix (Earth Blue Ver.) Gunpla. The 15cm model recreates the game’s main Mobile Suit in a special Earth Blue color scheme and is currently exclusive to the Collector’s Edition bundle.
The Collector’s Edition also includes a steel case featuring a Gundam Helix blueprint design, five Gundam Card Game promotional cards, and the physical bonuses included with the Launch Edition, including reversible cover art and an 11×17 poster. Players also receive the Digital Deluxe content, which includes a Mission Reward Booster, 14-color Mobile Suit Color Pack, Premium MOD Skins Set, and a Digital Artwork & Music Selection.
With the Collector’s Edition and Gundam Helix Gunpla displayed alongside the playable demo, Tokyo Game Show 2026 gives fans an early look at both the game and some of the physical collectibles arriving alongside it.
