Seattle based rapper Webb Wavvy is back with another new single titled “Double Up” featuring Doc DaVinci. Earlier this summer, he dropped his project LAST FEW WEEKS that successfully demonstrated his strengths and genre-breaking tendencies as an artist. With the release of the new single, he proves yet again that he has no plans of slowing down anytime soon.
Webb Wavvy is notorious for his hard hitting delivery paired with the creative depth of his lyrics. He doesn’t disappoint on “Double Up” as he displays this quality from start to finish. One of the most interesting elements in the song is the constant rotation of the triplet and two beat rhyme patterns in his first verse. This supports the creative twist he presents with his lyrical content.
The feature of Doc DaVinci works well with “Double Up”, as the precision of his delivery make his lyrics both memorable and impactful. His verse starts out to be more fragmented, but as it progresses his rhyme patterns smooth out to showcase impressive rhyme schemes. This quality is refreshing because different types of rhythmic patterns are heard which provide variety to the overall track.
