Anybody hungry for Waffle House?
In celebration of Snails and Botnek’s most recently released track, I want to break down the music video for “Waffle House”. For those who are unaware, Waffle House is a glorified chain, similar to IHOP, that carries a cult following.
I’ve had their waffles before when I lived in Florida, they’re okay. Not great, though. You can definitely go somewhere else to get better waffles.

The Breakdown: ‘Waffle House’ – Snails & Botnek
Let’s take a look at the music video:
Prologue: Washed up TV Star Conan the Barba- mean, Zronan the Warrior, gets sacked because of his bad acting.
Song Begins:
Did she get that burger from Grim Jim’s Burgers? After three music videos, you’d think that the FDA would start an investiagtion.
“Rule 1. Cardio” (Zombieland)
Great idea. Let’s take a photo of the grime monsters WHILE EVERYONE AROUND YOU IS RUNNING FOR THEIR LIVES.
This music video is basically a lead-up into a trailer for Left 4 Dead 3.
Tip: Don’t run through narrow tunnels, especially alone. (Sources: EVERY SINGLE HORROR MOVIE EVER)
They may have won the battle, but the food fight has just begun. Con- uhh… Zronan leads the way to victory on his bike that he stole from the set of Mad Max.
This is only the beginning though. Multiple sources lead to another Snails collaboration that will be used for part 2 of the the Food-oriented horror movie.
I’ve been a huge fan of Snails and Botnek for quite some time. Separately and as collaborating artists, I enjoy hearing what they bring next. This track was definitely a gamble since it’s a little bit on the softer side of what they produce together. Personally, I think that it’s a good track but I’d love to see someone else’s take on it. I have hopes that someone like Yookie, Kill The Noise, or Habstrakt could flip it around and turn into something bigger and better.
As for the music video I have a theory. This is part three of a saga of grime domination, starting with Head Splitter and Rip N Dip by another OWSLA alumni, Getter. We see the effects of what happens to people when they eat the contaminated food. We see how it affects the consumers.
Overall, I love the direction this video went. Ernest Desumbila directed it perfectly and the track went very well with the whole theme of the video. I hope to see part 4 of this saga soon.
