West coast rapper Tyga returns with a new single and accompanying video titled “Taste,” featuring Offset. “Taste” can be described as a catchy club banger that any rap fan can vibe with. The single “Taste” includes everything that we have come to expect from Tyga: A catchy beat, memorable punchlines, and themes about women, money, and partying.
While “Taste” consists of both a catchy chorus and memorable lyrics within the verses, it’s tied together by the simple yet effective beat produced by D.A Doman. Doman and Tyga are frequent collaborators and have worked together on tracks such as “Don’t Hate Tha Playa” and “Bunkin.” Now that they’ve teamed up once again for “Taste,” it feels as though Tyga has returned to a more comfortable place behind the mic; the overall style and feel of his delivery is reminiscent of his older projects such as “Careless World: Rise of the Last King” and “Hotel California.”
While it is unclear whether we will see a new project in the near future, seeing a new single point to the possibility of the project dropping sooner rather than later.
