You may not have heard about this, but a THC infused beer is about to become a thing in California. While San Diego has a long history in the craft beer industry, Two Roots Brewing Company took it one step further and is about to release actual THC infused beer.
Due to legal limitations, it will not have any alcohol in its composition. However, you will be able to experience a quick high, much quicker than edibles, and with the effects lasting up to two hours. The reason for this is that they’re using a water-soluble THC, rather than an oil-based infusion like most edibles. The result? You can have a genuine beer-drinking experience, but with the added benefit of cannabis.
Cannabis infused beer has been around for a few years already, just without THC in its composition (the psychoactive substance in cannabis). Instead, these were brewed with CBD (the non-psychoactive compound in cannabis). This resulted in a different, cannabis-based flavor profile, but, without getting you high.

Non-Alcoholic THC Infused Beer In Six Different Beer Styles
Two Roots Brewing company recently announced that the long-awaited THC beer will hit the shelves this month in San Diego. Six different beer styles will be available including; Lager, Stout, an IPA, Blonde Ale, Wheat, and a special “Tribute” beer that is not available yet, but will soon follow, with a unique cannabis taste. All of the beers will be micro-dosed. This will emulate the rapid onset of alcohol, as well as its rapid dissipation from the body.
The Brewing Process
Cannabiniers, the parent company of Two Roots, says that they’re taking a different route than any other breweries looking to put THC beer on the market. They’re brewing the beer under a traditional format, and then, they’re removing the alcohol through a European, state-of-the-art decolorization process, used for the first time in the U.S on traditionally-brewed beer. At that point, the beer will be brought to a cannabis-licensed facility where it will get infused with water-soluble THC. The great thing about it is it will lead to the authentic, unaltered craft beer taste that everyone loves.
