Happy February RMR peeps! Here’s a new week of some bomb ass bangers from the Pacific Northwest with artists like Swisher Sleep, Boomberbabyy, Briggzzy, and much more. Sit back, spark up, and enjoy the latest for PNW Rising. As always, check all of our selections on our official Spotify Playlist.
Vozhi “In My Bag (feat. Ike Watson)”
This is the anthem for those that are about the hustle and invest in themselves. Even for those that aren’t there yet, listen to this track and be inspired. Along with Vozhi’s and Ike Watson’s own inspirational bars, you’ll also hear a sample of Snoop Dogg thanking himself for his success. Also, the melodic flute is extremely enjoyable with the classic hip-hop percussion.
Mr. Nicenice “Gone For Too Long”
Mr. Nicenice lets you know he is dedicated to leaving his mark in the PNW soundscape. Despite any off times, the rapper is always down to make a fire comeback better than ever. The chorus to the song along with the beat is catchy and the type to easily replay in your head over and over again.
Swisher Sleep “The Music”
Swisher Sleep gives a soulful delivery in his song about his true passion, music. You can tell Swisher Sleep puts everything he has into his art because of verses mentioning that this will be what he does til the grave. The video seems pretty wholesome too as you just see Swisher Sleep with pure happiness as he vibes around in a music store talking about what he loves to do most.
Briggzzy “Outside”
Briggzzy speaks on humble beginnings and his hopes to make it big with his craft. Having gone through heartbreak and hardships, the wordsmith doesn’t let any of that bring him down when he knows better times are coming. The sound of this song is so chill while also being uplifting with its mellow tempo and bright sounding brass instrumentals.
Jayden¿ “REPEAT IT (feat. OFFDASNOW)”
Jayden¿ and OFFDASNOW bring on the somber rap vibes reminiscent of artists like Juice WRLD, XXXTentacion, Lil Peep, etc. The cadence is slow and the artists’ flows match that pacing. The vocals have a lot of emotion in them, and it’s that kind of expressiveness that almost makes you feel exactly what they’re feeling.
NHR Rambo “Like Fr”
NHR Rambo goes hard on the bars with “Like Fr” as he raps about heavy shit like drug use and life on the streets. Undoubtedly, he’s short, sweet, and to the point with his message. On top of that, the song offers some classic rap grooves and pulses that puts in extra work to the recording.
D.C.JAE “Different Flavors”
This hip-hop bop has some electronica mixed in that makes this a perfect add to any weekend hype playlist. Clearly, it’s no surprise D.C.JAE used the Blade rave scene as a visualizer for the song. I’m a big fan of the movie series, and it fits the track perfectly imo. You want a song that’s lit with a bit of darkness, look no further.
INFINITiii & ScrollinKey “ROCKiiiN OUT”
INFINITiii and ScrollinKey collab together to put out a project about getting lit and having a good ass time. It doesn’t matter what anyone’s gonna say or think, they really don’t give a damn. This has been made clear in their video as you see them drinking and hitting up the town without a care in the world.
Boomerbabyy “Splash”
Boomerbabyy turns up the charm in his music video for “Splash.” There’s few things the rapper cares about more than his music and who he cares about the most. The production of the music video shows intimate, close up scenes that emphasizes everything he dedicates his lyrics and work to.
Mack Murda “War”
“War” is heavy on the bass, which compliments the mood of the song as a whole. Mack Murda gives a strong and confident presence that’s very fitting to the track’s title. The hip-hop artist is gonna stay true to who he is, and stand firm on it. Anyone that wants to try and hate on how he is, he’s just gonna laugh it off and keep standing on business.
That’s gonna be it for this week’s PNW Rising, y’all. For all you talented rappers and hip-hop artists out there in the Pacific Northwest, we’d love to feature you! Be sure to send submissions of your most recent work to our Instagram, and you may just see it on our next listicle!
