West Coast Weed Tour Awards: Best Weed In Oregon DogHouse Farms’ Starkiller OG Is A Citrus Berry Blast Of Pure Euphoria

DogHouse Farms’ Starkiller OG Is Like A Citrus Berry Blast Of Straight Euphoria

DogHouse Farms is a cannabis brand operating out of Oregon and Washington that I’m more than familiar with. I’ve heard of their Starkiller OG strain and potentially have taken a rip of it at some point. Either way, it was a fair assumption going into this review that this strain is strong and stinky.

Starkiller is an indica-dominant flower with a pleasing purple, orange, and dark green coloration that comes from crossing Mazar x Blueberry OG and Rare Dankness #2. This strain has potential medical benefits from how strong the terpenes are and THC is. It’ll definitely calm you down. If you’re not careful it’ll put you to sleep.

When I first popped open the mylar bag it was like my nose entered a miniature tropical fruit farm. Citrus and berry notes lit me up with excitement as lemon, blueberry, and candy-sweetness hit my senses. I already could tell this was good weed just from smelling it. The dominant terpenes for this strain are myrcene, caryophyllene, and limonene, per Leafly. I could literally smell all of these different terps, but with the myrcene and limonene sticking out the most.

Cracking a nug open I felt an almost wetness on my fingers from the resin the nug was still holding onto inside like a coconut and its milk. Dense on the outside, but gushy with trichomes and natural resin. I could really pick up more of the berry scent at this point, which led me to believe this was an honest cultivar of the strain with a myrcene dominance. I took out my grinder to twist up a stubby, yet girthy joint to smoke on the side of my house.

The flavor hit me and the taste was almost exactly as it smelled—citrus berry with a hint of gas. The high was like Suki hitting the nitrous in 2 Fast 2 Furious; I was charged up. The spiciness of the caryophyllene came out at first and then the other terps kicked in like 10 minutes after. Then I felt like everything was ultra chill, but it dried my eyes out a bit and made me very sleepy. The medical benefits of this strain can potentially help insomnia, PTSD, bodily pain, and gastrointestinal disorder.
