On Thursday, January 17th, Spotify announced that they are rolling out a new safety feature, called “car view.” This feature is made specially made for playing music while you are driving.
Car view is essentially a big-button version of the normal “now playing” screen. In addition to bigger controls, the feature also hides album art. That way, the driver can focus on title, artist, and the basic features like “next” and “shuffle.” Car view is available in Spotify’s settings; once it’s switched on, it will automatically activate once your phone is connected to your car’s Bluetooth.
If you’re an Android user and you don’t see this feature yet, never fear. Spotify has just begun rolling it out to all Android users, so it may show up in your next update.
