The Smokehouse in Perryton, Texas is putting on a Smokehouse Creek Fire Music Festival on March 24. This event is to help raise money for the victims of the Smokehouse Creek Fire that took place on February 26. Named after the fire, the event will not only benefit victims of that fire, but help all families in the surrounding communities. The family friendly event starts at 3pm, but there is a cover charge.
This event is sponsored by Wolf Creek Feeders, Tregellas Family Farm, C&L Service, Cristie & Carlos Estrada, and Sundown Light Plants. These sponsors are all local to the panhandle of Texas. There will also be 5 local artists performing for an hour each, including Ty Blackburn Band.
We were thrilled to play and do our part to give back because it’s different than hearing about a tragedy, it happened to our family and friends so it was a no brainer!

Fundraiser for Fires in the Panhandles
This fire holds the label the worst fire in Texas history because it burned more than 1.2 million acres. Many locals lost homes, loved ones, and their cattle. This was not the only fire raging across the panhandle area. There was also a fire in the panhandle of Oklahoma going on as well that caused damage to 30,000 acres. As a local resident of the area, my heart goes out to both states and those affected by the fires going on.
I am honored to be apart of our great community. ‘Panhandle Strong’ are not just words, it is a way of life.
Mark Patterson
Mark Patterson and his wife are working hard with Yesenia Morales to put on this fundraiser. Patterson has expressed how much he loves his community and that comes together for each other. Patterson remembers coming out to Perryton and helping after the devastation left behind after a tornado last June 15.

There is a cover charge of 20 dollars for adults, 15 dollars for ages 13 to 18, but kids under 12 are only 10 dollars. The Spot, The Smokehouse’s bar, posts on Facebook, “Come enjoy a day with us and support a great cause!” The Spot provides Yesenia Morales as a contact for the event if there are any questions.
We want to help and give back to the community, because they helped us with the tornado. We want to do the same.
