If you’re heading out to The Gorge for Seven Lions’ Chronicles III this weekend, you will not be disappointed. Seven Lions on his own is certainly worth the ticket price, but the added support has some truly next level talent. NGHTMRE, Abraxis, Jason Ross, Alpha 9, Trivecta, Last Heroes, Haliene, and Gem & Tauri will all take the stage leading up to Seven Lions’ anticipated set.
Seven Lions Presents Chronicles III
Of the names that are going, I need to give shout-outs to three that will more than fulfill your trance needs. As you may know, my heart beats for trance, and the last trance show I’ve seen was in September 2019. I’ve never gone two years without a trance show since getting into the Seattle scene almost ten years ago. Unfortunately, it looks like I will have to miss this one as well. So please, send tons of snaps and Instagram posts!
3 Artists to Check Out at Seven Lions’ Chronicles III
Jason Ross
If your taste is more aligned with big room sound, the first artist I need to mention is Jason Ross. Maybe you’re a keen consumer of Respect My Region and remember what I wrote about ABGT250 back in 2017. Personally, I walked away from that weekend feeling that Jason Ross b2b Seven Lions was the best set of the entire festival. So, it’s only fitting that Jason Ross would return to The Gorge to play for Chronicles III, right?
Jason Ross has been one of the harder sounds on the Anjunabeats roster for many years now. Every so often, I throw on “Atlas,” “Frontier,” or “Valor” and I have to pick my jaw back up off of the floor. The energy he brings to trance is very special. I’d suspect that the top moment of his set would be if he plays “Higher Love,” which he made in collaboration with Seven Lions a few years back.
ALPHA 9 (ARTY)
A favorite of mine for ten years now, ALPHA 9 (ARTY), plays an incredible set each and every time. A few years back, we had the privilege of chatting with Arty himself. One of the most exciting things to me is that he has retained his unique, genuine sound through all of this time. Throwing on his classic tunes like “Rebound,” his remix of “Hey Now” by London Grammar, or his remix of Axwell /\ Ingrosso’s “Dreamer,” I’m transported back to the exact moment I heard the tune for the first time. The fidelity of those experiences has been retained through every re-listen.
Of every artist on the lineup for Chronicles III, I have to say this is the one I personally would be looking forward to the most, especially if you haven’t seen an ALPHA 9 set yet. There is no other venue in the world where his sound would be experienced to a higher degree.
Abraxis
The last shout-out I desperately need to share with you is for our hometown psytrance heroes: Dimibo. Yes, Dimibo will be playing The Gorge at Chronicles III alongside Seven Lions himself in a rare Abraxis set. Ever since finding videos on Facebook of this trio playing EDC a few years back, I’ve been dying to experience their sonic fusion live. I’m sure it will be an absolutely wild ride. It makes my heart incredibly happy that Dimibo and Seven Lions crossed paths, proving that Seattle is among the top tier of trance in the entire world.
Check out “Half Of It,” which has amassed over 1.5 million listens on Spotify. I appreciate the roller coaster experience, going in and out of psy madness with moments to catch your breath in between.
Tickets for Seven Lions’ Chronicles III are still on sale if you have held off thus far. It’s definitely not too late to hop into a car and catch the show!
