Respect My Region is headed to Portland this weekend to celebrate cannabis culture with Passport Cannabis during the inaugural stop of the West Coast Weed Tour. The West Coast Weed Tour is Respect My Region’s quest to find the best cannabis brand and products along the entire West Coast. Only the finest hip-hop will be flowing through our speakers while traveling. Check out some of the Portland hip-hop music that has been catching our ears of late. This isn’t a ranking, just a list of artists who are all equally dope in their own right.
West Coast Weed Tour – Portland Hip-Hop Music
Mic Capes
Mic Capes has graced our website many times. Capes has also worked with RMR for or The Thesis: PDX to SEA concert series. He lit the stage up during his Nectar Lounge performance and left a lasting impression on our playlists.
Bocha
Bocha has a carefree loose style of hip-hop, slightly reminiscent of artists like King Fantastic. Repping Portland to the fullest, Bocha’s honest lyrics about his person and city stand out from track to track.
Dead Phone Dummiez
Dead Phone Dummiez is a five-piece hip-hop crew: Heihachi Blakk, dob, Sunray, Khaelo De, and Lvl 5. “WE” is a video that came out in 2017 and features the Dummiez wilding out across the city. Each MC brings their own unique style to the mix, giving songs a lunchroom cypher feel.
Donte Thomas
Donte Thomas works closely with fellow PDX spitter Bocha. Thomas has a quick and tight lyrical delivery that contrasts Bocha’s relaxed flow. Thomas was featured on a TeamBackPack Cypher in 2017 where his full talent was on display. Thomas and Bocha released a project together called “Garden Boys.”
Rasheed Jamal
Rasheed Jamal’s songs sound pages from a journal. Heartfelt tracks about his self-reflection and philosophies about life. Jamal has the ability to drastically change his style in any given record.
Wynne
Wynne has a relentless style. Bar after bar minute after minute. “CVTVLYST” is a six-minute showcase of her wit with a pen and skills with the mic.
The Last Artful Dodgr
The Last Artful Dodgr has an unmistakable nasaly sound with a smooth, club-ready delivery. Dodgr has a contagious flow you can’t help but move to.
Myke Bogan
Myke Bogan has the stoner motif covered for the West Coast Weed Tour. This stoner rapper reflects on life and the cannabis lifestyle through his slowed-down beats.
TYuS
TYuS sings and raps over his records. His sound is a hip-hop/R&B hybrid that adds more style and swagger to your average R&B track. This is easy listening with a dope beat.
