Port Angeles-based cannabis producer “North Coast Concentrates” had their license suspended on November 2nd. They’re under a 180-day suspension due to a serious violation that went down in September.
This is one of the more serious violations we’ve seen in the legal cannabis space. North Coast was caught red-handed with “legally” grown product being sold on the black market. Per the LCB news blast, an officer was performing a routine traffic stop on a delivery vehicle from North Coast Concentrates. He then found a considerable amount of untraceable product alongside 112 grams of traceable concentrates. This lead to an immediate investigation. Law enforcement then found evidence on the driver’s cell phone that ownership was aware of “movement” of untraceable cannabis product.
This type of infraction is exactly what legalized cannabis does not want to see. Everyday folks are dedicating their lives to promoting the normalization of cannabis alongside the professionalism and legal distribution of an emerging consumer good. Acts like this only set the entire industry back in the public eye. The industry has already become more competitive than ever and farms are struggling to stay afloat. This is a legal industry and if you can’t compete just know that breaking the law hurts all of us.
