You’d best keep your eyes open this month for PIVE and his debut album I Will Forever Be. This homie has a deep register and rap style unlike anything before, and it’s sure to treat his career well.
PIVE is a great pick for any 2000’s-style hip-hop fans. You’re going to find an organic instrumentation accompanying his bars, including keys, chorus vox, and classic drum samples. Alongside the upcoming album release, there are also two singles out now that you can peep to see this style in action.
The two singles in question, Music Lives and Girlfriends Dreams appear to be opposites on an energy spectrum. The latter track, for instance, is a little more deadpan and digital. These techno aspects combine with PIVE’s storytelling swagger to make Girlfriends Dream a pretty badass hype track. Meanwhile, Music Lives is particularly uplifting and anthemic. This mix, by comparison, is a bit more emotionally aware, and PIVE raps about making a living as an artist.
