Grab your surfboards, Perry Porter is here with the new wave. Today we have the pleasure of premiering his newest collection of music Channel Surfing.
Traveling in and out of the Pacific Northwest from art-show to art-show and rocking stage after stage. Perry is simply an artist who stays in multiple lanes. Away from the microphone, Perry made a name as a painter. On the microphone, Perry paints a different tune.
Landing somewhere in between lyricist and dripping in sauce, Channel Surfing finds Perry at a middle ground between sounds he’s played with in the past and something new. Records like ‘Living Legend’ and ‘BOBBY RO$$’ take on a persona of his earlier solo material while ‘Diff. Flavors’ and ‘NATURE BOY’ contain remnants of the turnt up sound we heard from Sleep Steady. My favorite records on the project are ‘Corners’ and ‘BOBBY RO$$.’
