On Friday the 13th in Portland, Oregon, we attended the Passport Cannabis Industry Night. The event featured a range of cannabis businesses. Flower, along with companies that focused on edibles were primarily in attendance. There were a few familiar faces, Honu, who is rapidly expanding into the Oregon market and Papa Jesus Farms, who sponsored our event in Portland this past May.
There was also delicious food available. A build your own waffle bar was at one end of the room and CBD ice cream at the other. Both of these food choices had crowds of people the entire time we were there. A handful of urban culture clothing companies also had booths available.
Everything from vegan protein bars to infused chocolate was there. Two brands stood out to me because of my dietary restrictions and my love of cooking.
Alto Essentials
Alto Essentials offers culinarily inclined consumers the opportunity to infuse their own recipes. Options include infused honey, salt, or olive oil. Each serving is infused with 5mg of THC. The boxes they come in show off the product as if it was purchased at a spice store. Packaging for each individual serving is similar to how sugar comes at restaurants. Imagine adding a dose of infused honey to your tea in the morning. Or medicated olive oil to a salad dressing recipe.
Velobar
Velobar is a vegan protein bar that comes in two varieties. This bar is also peanut-free! Designed for active cannabis users the mild THC formula is ideal for beginners. This formula features 5mg of THC.
Aside from beginners, it is also ideal for people who want enhanced body awareness, relief from stress, or heightened creativity. They also offer a balanced THC and CBD formula. Both of these bars are created with high-quality organic superfoods including pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, and dried fruit sweetened with syrup created from brown rice.
