O2worldwide is a collective of artistic visionaries based out of Oklahoma City. Two of their members, Ombachi and Casper Sage just released a single together titled, “DROWN” with Lena. This release gives us a taste of what the artists are capable of outside of the group. O2worldwide’s third album, BACK ON TRACK was one of my favorite releases of 2021. The album was filled with spacey ambient beats and laid-back bars for almost the entire 50-minute run-time.
Both, Ombachi and Casper Sage have released their own solo projects since then. Ombachi dropped his album, ESCAPISM, in April of last year. All the tracks were written and produced by the rapper himself. Overall, the album consists of themes of love, reflection, and finding purpose.

Casper Sage released his self-titled debut earlier this year in May. The 20-year-old singer is very versatile with most of the album being cohesive and consisting of indie lo-fi beats. In the final track, he rhymed over an experimental hip-hop beat which surprised me. These two albums were very personal, and I can tell they put a lot of work into each track. Highly recommend checking it out if you haven’t yet.

Now they’ve banded together to release their song, “DROWN.” On the track, Ombachi talks about him being lost without the girl he met, and he wants to prove his love for her. In the hook he says, “I lost myself I can’t be found, my eyes are closed don’t let me drown.”
Casper’s verse was good. He was singing about a lot of the same things that Ombachi rapped about. My favorite line Casper sang was, “If I fall into the sea would you dive in after me.” To me, the song sonically has a somewhat early 2000s feeling. It feels almost nostalgic. In a way, it brought me back, even though it’s brand new. Without doubt, the O2worldwide members both did a great job on their first joint song together. Hopefully, they put out another track together soon.
