R&B singer Mýa has released a new song titled “G.M.O” (Got My Own) featuring Tink – which is destined to be her next hit. In addition to dropping the song, she’s also provided a new visual as well. Up to this point she’s released two full-length projects, where her latest titled T.K.O was dropped earlier this year.
“G.M.O” (Got My Own) is first and foremost a fun and empowering ladies anthem. From start to finish, Mýa showcases her extensive and smooth vocals, which are highlighted by brief yet effective punchlines and statements. This can be heard with lines such as “Don’t need money, got my own / I got bags, bags to blow / Hold the boy, don’t need dope / But you can spin it on me if you want.” In addition, Tink provides a solid feature verse on the song. Both artists compliment each other well as their contrasting deliveries pair nicely.
The video itself is quite simplistic, but highly successful. A large majority of the visual is filmed with a white backdrop, with various shots and choreographed routines seen in between. Check it out below!
