Miss May I have released the official music video for “Death Threat,” bringing one of the more emotionally confrontational tracks from No Place For Me to life through a completely DIY production.
Rather than building the video around a massive production, the band took matters into its own hands. Vocalist Levi Benton developed the concept, while William Story produced and directed the visuals. Filming took place across properties owned by band members, using the locations and resources they already had available.
That stripped down approach fits a song built around confronting uncomfortable parts of yourself instead of hiding from them.

“Death Threat” Confronts Emotional Manipulation
“Death Threat” combines Miss May I’s groovy heavy metalcore with a subject that goes much deeper than its aggressive title might initially suggest.
According to Benton, the song explores what happens when someone recognizes your flaws and insecurities but chooses to use them against you instead of leaving room for growth.
“‘Death Threat’ is about being held in an emotional chokehold while someone uses your own flaws against you,” Benton explained.
At the center of the track is the idea that people’s darker habits and personal struggles should be acknowledged and worked through, not used as ammunition in conflict.
The song follows that situation to its breaking point, then reaches a moment of clarity. Instead of remaining trapped in the same cycle, “Death Threat” moves toward recognizing what needs to change and actually taking the steps necessary to address it.
That message connects directly to the larger themes Miss May I explores throughout No Place For Me.

No Place For Me Gets Personal
For Benton, creating No Place For Me became an opportunity to put emotions into words that he had struggled to articulate for years.
The vocalist described writing and recording the album as a cathartic process that forced him to confront parts of himself that weren’t always easy to examine.
“No Place For Me is everything I’ve felt for a long time but never had the words for,” Benton shared. “Writing it taught me who I actually am even when that hurt to look at.”
That personal journey runs throughout the record, documenting where those feelings began, what Benton learned while confronting them, and where he finds himself today.
“Death Threat” fits naturally within that story. Instead of simply identifying emotional pain, the song addresses the difficult process of recognizing destructive patterns and determining what needs to happen next.
Miss May I Take No Place For Me On The Road
The band will have plenty of opportunities to bring its latest material to the stage this fall.
Miss May I will join Born of Osiris for the Perpetual Iron Tour, a co-headlining run scheduled for Fall 2026. Convictions and Downswing will provide additional support throughout the trek, putting together a lineup rooted heavily in the modern metalcore and deathcore scenes.
The tour gives fans another chance to experience material from No Place For Me in the environment where Miss May I has built much of its reputation.

After years of touring and releasing music, the band continues to find ways to push its sound forward without abandoning the aggression and melodic elements that have remained central to its identity.
