DISTANT is pushing deeper into the darkness with “Flesh and Nails,” the latest single from the band’s upcoming album Into Despair. This time, the deathcore heavyweights have recruited longtime friend Kyle Medina for a collaboration built around betrayal, broken trust, and the moment someone’s true intentions finally become impossible to ignore.
Arriving alongside an official music video produced and filmed by Bart Sperling, “Flesh and Nails” gives listeners another taste of Into Despair before the album officially arrives on November 6.
For longtime DISTANT fans, Medina’s appearance should also feel familiar. He previously joined the band on fan favorite “Argent Justice,” making “Flesh and Nails” another collaboration rooted in the relationships DISTANT has built within the deathcore community.

“Flesh And Nails” Turns Betrayal Into Something Brutal
DISTANT has never been afraid to make its music sound punishing, and “Flesh and Nails” channels that heaviness into something deeply personal.
The song confronts what happens when loyalty turns out to be an illusion. It explores the anger and frustration that follow betrayal, particularly when it comes from someone close enough to have earned your trust in the first place.
According to DISTANT, the track is about recognizing the people who hide behind false loyalty before turning their backs when they’re needed most.

The band has already spent significant time on the road this year, including European dates alongside Sylosis and a recent U.S. run that featured several shows with In Flames and Thrown.
The touring schedule will continue into 2027 when DISTANT joins Spite, Emmure, and Mauled for the New World Killer EU/UK 2027 Tour beginning in January.
For a band known for translating its massive production and relentless heaviness into the live setting, the upcoming shows should also provide opportunities for material from Into Despair to take on an entirely different energy in front of a crowd.
DISTANT Prepare To Release Into Despair
With “Flesh and Nails,” DISTANT continues revealing what listeners can expect when Into Despair arrives later this year. The aggression remains intact, but the emotions behind that heaviness appear to be taking a much more prominent role.
The album will be released on November 6 across digital platforms alongside CD and multiple vinyl editions, including a limited iridescent pearl dawn pressing restricted to 300 copies.
