Drawing musical inspiration from your life and significant other is nothing new for musicians, and Marc E. Bassy has been doing that for years. This past summer and fall have been monumental for him, as “You and Me” and “Plot Twist” became popular radio hits, and are both RIAA platinum singles. Having just wrapped up on tour, Bassy wasted no time to hit the studio and record new tracks. “Main Chick” is a track that he had recorded while being on the road with Ty Dolla Sign a couple months ago.
“Main Chick” is about having your life changed by a girl, but not quite changing everything yet. The male protagonist sings about having side chicks, but reassures his girl that she’s the main chick who understands him. It’s about being committed, but not fully ready to dive in yet. It’s a upbeat radio single that also makes a great party jam.
