With great sadness we can confirm that two people have died of unknown causes at Lost Lands Music Festival over the weekend. The festival released the following statement on their Facebook page:
Out of respect for those who have passed away at Lost Lands, we won’t speculate on whether the deaths at the festival were drug-related. Regardless, we want to remind our readers to stay healthy and safe when attending music festivals. This means drinking plenty of water, taking breaks to eat and sleep, and never, ever taking a pill or a drink from a stranger.
If you choose to consume drugs at a festival, ensure you will have a way to test any substances for traces of dangerous additives like fentanyl. Many attendees at Lost Lands confirmed the DanceSafe had a presence at the festival. We would encourage anyone who chooses to take drugs at a festival utilize test kit services like DanceSafe if they are available.
The friends and family of one of the deceased, Mario Symborski, have put together a GoFundMe as a memorial fund. You can make a donation to them here.
We’ll continue to update you on any developing news surrounding Lost Lands.
