This year’s Paradiso is among the greatest lineups ever to be graced in Pacific Northwest history. With AC Slater, Noisia, Pendulum, Deadmau5, The Crystal Method and Virtual Self, it’s going to be hard to beat a lineup like that. Today we’re going to go in depth in talking about the local DJs playing the festival. Some names you’ve probably heard, and names you will most likely hear in the future.
Sharps

Quite possibly one of the most well-known local DJs on this lineup, Sharps has a plethora of commendations under his belt, including collaborative tracks/remixes with Kompany, Tynan, Tascione, and CRaymak, as well as releases on Never Say Die and Circus Records. You’ll most likely see him throw down a heavy set, mainly with dubstep and trap. Don’t miss him. You’ll regret it.
Stage Prediction: Wreckage
Subsonic Drops

I imagine the best part about working for USC Events and being a well-regarded DJ is that, when the time comes, you can put your name on one of the hugest events the pacific northwest has ever seen. We saw that when Darrius, the entertainment director for USC Events, went back to back with Johnny Monsoon.
Aaron Silverstein, also known as Subsonic Drops, is the marketing coordinator for the company behind Paradiso. Sadly, he announced he will be dropping the name Subsonic Drops, so if you want to see his very last set under that name I suggest going and watching it. I know I will.
Stage Prediction: Mainstage
Darrius
[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/332166965″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]
Speaking of Darrius, you’ll see him hitting one of the stages again at Paradiso. Like I said before, if you’re high up on that working list, you have that free pass to add yourself to the lineup. They deserve it too. I imagine it’d be a lot of work to be the entertainment director or the marketing coordinator for USC, so they can do that if they want. I hear he spins dope music, I’ve never seen him live but I’ve seen his name around for a long time, and I haven’t heard any complaints from people that have seen him so he must be good.
Stage Prediction: Mainstage or Digital Oasis
Hal-V & SpaceCase
[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/355732394″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]
The only locals playing Diso that aren’t from the Seattle area, Hal-V & SpaceCase are a well known duo from Portland. Opening for Funtcase, AFK, Pegboard Nerds, Figure, Hydraulix, and so many more, it’s almost obvious why they were chosen. Producing their own music, creating excellent mixes, and the visual personas they have as Hal-V & SpaceCase are undeniably great.
Stage Prediction: Wreckage
Tollefson
[soundcloud url=”https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/426106464″ params=”color=#ff5500&auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&show_teaser=true” width=”100%” height=”166″ iframe=”true” /]
One of the more eclectic artists on the lineup, we have Tollefson. An excellent fit for what will most likely be the Digital Oasis, as her sets stay in the tech/house arena, so to speak. In fact, her bio says that she’s often found “Swimming in the dark & tech-y end of the spectrum.” Expect deep and moody basslines on top of 128-esque beats when she hits the turntables. If you want a slower, not as heavy start to your stay at Paradiso, watch her set.
Stage: Digital Oasis
Tickets for Paradiso Festival are almost sold out, so if you want to see your favorite local DJ, be sure to snag one here.
