In October 2022, while exploring Watertown, Massachusetts, we stumbled upon the Blackberry Pie strain from Lost In Translation (LIT) Farms at AYR.

Flower from LIT is grown indoors in an environment that influences the production (and retention) of fragrant terpenes. Creating batch to batch consistency from strains, like Blackberry Pie, that are potent and flavorful enough to live up to the hype. These highly coveted cultivars are sold at AYR dispensaries across the state. After hearing budtenders and customers rave about Blackberry Pie being “the best” strain from LIT’s award-winning lineup, we popped open the bag to see for ourselves.
LIT’s Blackberry Pie Strain Overview
Blackberry Pie is a rare, perfectly balanced hybrid strain that is popular for its terpene-rich aromatic profile and mouth-watering flavors. Frosted with a thick coating of crystal-like trichomes, Blackberry Pie’s buds are a stunning visual representation of the potentially potent effects the strain has to offer.
LIT’s cut of Blackberry Pie has an overall terpene potency of 1.59%. The top terps found in this fragrant pheno are beta-caryophyllene, d-limonene, and linalool – with pinene following closely behind (if we had to guess based purely off the nose). This batch of Blackberry Pie displayed moderate potency with total cannabinoids testing above 27%, including 25.5% THCA, 0.97% Delta-9-THC, and 0.06% CBDA. With numbers like that, novice users should proceed with caution.
Strain Appearance, Aroma & Effects
The nugs of this strain are lighter than the name would suggest, with a short and squatty bud structure. Based on look alone, this Blackberry Pie strain seems to be sativa leaning. However, breaking open the buds reveals a strong indica-like scent that warns of the potential for a potent punch.
The scent of berry, gas, pine, pepper, and citrus waft through the air – just as the top reported terpenes would suggest. The most impressive aspect of the Blackberry Pie strain’s aroma is its ability to stay consistent, translating seamlessly from bud, to ground flower, through to the initial taste. As the smoke coats your tongue, the initial aroma of the strain gives way to a heavy floral/piney flavor haloed by hints of berry on the exhale.
The effects of LIT’s Blackberry Pie strain aren’t for the faint of heart. In small doses, consumers can expect a blend of heady stoniness and euphoria, mixed with a mild full-bodied sense of relief that may help fend off pain throughout the day. The Official RMR Review: Blackberry Pie
After picking out a hefty nug that easily weighed over a gram, Joey rolled the Blackberry Pie into a joint to see how the strain stacked up against others from the tour. Although the smoke was slightly harsh, when he considered every aspect of the experience, this terpliscious flower didn’t disappoint. Overall LIT’s strain scored on the high end of our scale with its fire aroma, tasty flavor and notable effects earning Blackberry Pie an 87 out of 100.
