House artist Like Mike, who typically performs with Dimitri Vegas in a DJ duo, has just released his second major solo track “Back 2 You.” Like Mike had a solo hit back in January of this year with his critically-acclaimed single “Memories.”His newest track is a bass-thumping beauty with a catchy hook and velvety vocals.
“Back 2 You”‘s best quality is in its smooth vocals, carrying a simple melody through a mellow, sexy vibe. The snaps keeping time over a deep base sound make this track a slow-burn scorcher, holding your interest through its catchiness while still keeping its chill undertones.
Like Mike has been exploring his career outside of his projects with Dimitri Vegas, who is currently exploring his theatrical side by working on a career as an actor. It appears that Like Mike is sticking to his guns as a musician, continuing on as a producer without Dimitri.
We have yet to hear if the duo will be splitting any time soon, but fans of the two artists may be growing anxious after so many solo releases from Like Mike. Like Mike seems to have no problem continuing without Dimitri Vegas (real name Dimitri Thivaios), as his newest music has been stellar.
Will Like Mike split off officially, and break the Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike duo? Or will the two reunite after Dimitri Vegas is done with his filming this year? We’ll have to wait and see.
