Lifeformed Vol. 1: Cleo Makes Contact is a fast-paced science-fiction tale from Dark Horse Comics. Cleo is a young woman who is forced to grow up during an alien invasion. Cleo’s normal life quickly devolves into a chaotic fight for her life with an unlikely alien ally.
Matt Mair Lowery and Cassie Anderson created an emotionally charged tale that snatched my fascination by the second chapter. Cleo is a complicated protagonist that quickly shows the demeanor to adapt and thrive in her new world. She’s a strong character that very much reminds me of Ellie from The Last of Us or Judith Grimes from The Walking Dead.
I found myself attached to Cleo and her alien friend within pages of meeting them. Their origins couldn’t be more different, but life, even life scattered across the galaxy, can find kindship in survival. This is an action-packed and emotional tale that absolutely deserves your undivided attention.
