Where It All Started

Larry June, who is now 33 years old, grew up back and forth between San Francisco, with his father, and Atlanta, with his mother. June has always had a passion for music and creating, especially with inspiration from his father who formerly dabbled with rapping.
Larry June started to make freestyles on MySpace in 2006 which would eventually turn into him making mixtapes. While starting to turn his mixtapes into a more serious outlet, he dropped his first album ever called “Cali Grown” in 2010, featuring a few artists such as Mitchy Slick, lamsu!, Killa Keise, and Creole. He even released another album “Cali Grown 2” in 2013.
Seven years later, he signed with Warner Records in 2017 but eventually decided that he preferred making music as an independent artist due to all the restrictions that the label presented. Nonetheless, June released his next album called “Very Peaceful” in 2018 which featured artists LNDN DRGS, Curren$y, and Berner.
Larry June’s Album Run-Down
After kick starting his career in music, Larry June has been consistent in releasing albums, coming out with two every year for the past four years or so. He has been signed with record labels Free Minded Co., Empire, who he is releasing his newest album under, and Warner who represented him previously.
He has notably worked alongside artists such as Post Malone, The Alchemist, and Westside Gunn.
“Numbers” was one of June’s debut singles that dropped in 2018 with Free Minded Co. which paved the way for his album “Numbers” that dropped in 2020. The album was in collaboration with artists Herm Lewis, Emeryld, Ro James, Black C, DeJ Loaf, Jay Worthy, and Monroe Flow.
June released two albums in 2021, those being “Orange Print”, which is a personal favorite of mine, and “Into The Late Night”. “Orange Print” dropped on June 11th and featured recurring artists Herm Lewis and DeJ Loaf, as well as Money Man and Trae the Truth. “Into The Late Night” dropped in collaboration with producer x artist, Cardo, on September 24th. Both of these 2021 albums were released under both Free Minded Co. and Empire records.

And it doesn’t stop there.
