The KB24 NFT sports crossover comes shortly after Steph Curry’s purchase of the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT; an NFT that inspired the creation of the charitable KB24 NFT. This project sends 100% of profits to the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation to keep the Kobe Bryant legacy and fan community alive.
The Founders of The KB24 NFT Project
Andy & Sako are the unlikely co-founders of the KB24 NFT Project. At the age of ten, they frequented KB24.com to connect with the late idol, Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant was an American professional basketball player and philanthropist. His legacy inspired others through his hard work, dedication, and passion for what he loved during and after his 20-year NBA career on the Los Angeles Lakers.

After attending the Kobe Basketball Academy as children, the co-founders felt deeply impacted by what Kobe was doing for the community. In adulthood, Andy & Sako bought their favorite childhood site, KB24.com, and now sell NFTs to help support the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation.
“We see The KB24 NFT living forever and being interchanged between Kobe fans finding their favorite moment with the Lakes legend, and with being able to access the Kobe wall that will be hosted publicly, allowing NFT holders to upload their favorite photo or tribute to Kobe and have it be viewed forever by fans visiting his website.”

The Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation Partnership
The Bryant family created The Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation with the goal of “creating positive impact for underserved athletes and young women in sports.” Mambacita is a nickname for Kobe and Vanessa Bryant’s late daughter, Gigi, combined with Kobe’s nickname “Black Mamba.” The KB24 cause has been able to continue since 2008 due to the unwavering support of fans.
Although at first, the foundation partnership amassed skeptics; over the past week, the project’s Discord server has grown to more than 20,000 users. One member in the Discord even gifted front row Lakers tickets as a giveaway prize. And even current and former NBA players have taken notice. For instance, Dwight Howard, Kenny “The Jet” Smith, and Metta World Peace have all publicly endorsed the KB24 NFT project.
“I’m honestly amazed at how fast the KB24 community has grown and how engaged they are with each other. I haven’t fully immersed myself in the NFT world just yet, but this is a movement that carries more significance than just another piece of art.”
