Exciting news is coming out of New York City from GUMBO Brands and New York’s #1 radio station, Hot 97. The two iconic brands have announced a partnership in the form of a new series called Gumbo Studios that is dedicated to discussing the state of media, fashion, music, and culture.
Hosted by GUMBO Brands CFO Alexis Major, CEO Karim Butler (Luka Brazi), and Mia Bell, viewers can expect to see some of today’s favorite and major upcoming artists week in and week out.
Legendary DJ and radio host, DJ Funk Flex announced the exciting news and posted about the show on Instagram.
GUMBO has already made waves in the cannabis industry. Officially launching at Cookies Maywood dispensary in California in late 2022, GUMBO has been grinding day after day to make sure people have heard about the brand. While we see a trend in legal cannabis where major California brands are expanding out of the state, it’s incredible to see brands from New York infiltrate the West Coast market. There has long been talks of what legalization in the entertainment capital of the world would mean for the industry, GUMBO is slated to look like someone who wields that power. While many cannabis brands would pay to be featured on a Hot 97 show, they’ll host their own and it’s an organic play. GUMBO has been tapped into the New York streets and music realm for decades and has grown a national influence through some of the most popular names in the game, we anticipate their show will be successful if they simply interviewed their close affiliates alone.
Artists such as Moneybagg Yo, Kodak Black, Meek Mill, Migos, Dave East, Fabolous, and others have already endorsed the cannabis strain. I’m certainly not as famous as any of those people but I can cosign the fact that the Madison Square GUMBO strain by Cookies in California is absolutely fire.
