Dosi-Orange 9 from Greenline Organics comes with a lot of clout. It won a 2018 High Times Cannabis Cup for Best Sativa Flower. This is one of California’s best sativa offerings, according to High Times. It packs a lofty price tag at $60 per eighth at many recreational outlets.
Greenline Organics bred Orange Tree with Do-Si-Dos to create Dosi-Orange 9. The result was a strong sativa-leaning hybrid. Dosi-Orange 9 is stored in a black puck shaped container. This protects the cannabis from light damage, but you can’t see the flower. It’s hard to justify spending $60 on flower I can’t see. The puck is adorned with colorful orange/cookie logos. The brand artwork is bright, simple, straightforward. Overall it’s well presented.
Opening the puck reveals a blast of sweet orange terpenes. The aroma is similar to a freshly unwrapped orange Tootsie Pop. The triangularly shaped flower was dense and fairly dry. This isn’t the flower I would use to fill a blunt, rather in a grinder for my bong. Each flower has beautiful purple and green hues and covered in milky trichomes.
Every hit of green flower bounced orange terps off my pallet. After the green was burned, a sweet earthy flavor took hold. This strain featured a mellow heady high. The effects were uplifting and motivational but didn’t last long.
A $60 price tag brings lofty expectations. Dosi-Orange 9’s aromatic and flavor experience are incredible. The orange terps shine in all aspects and they’re delicious. However, price, texture, and potency left me wanting more.
