Three Seattle MC’s that have been staples in the Pacific Northwest scene for years are teaming up to create a bonified supergroup on par with the likes of Dyme Def and Run The Jewels. Fearce Vill (of Dyme Def,) Grynch, the “King of Ballard” and Grieves of Rhymesayers are collaborating minds and styles to form Greater Than.
To me, Greater Than means these three rappers are forming a cohesive unit that is greater than the individual parts, or it could mean they just spit shit that is greater than other groups that are operating. Regardless of their name’s significance, their sound is undeniable.
Fearce Vill starts things off over the Grieves produced beat. His verse comes fast with a relentless minute of rhymes that lead into the first hook, sang by Grieves. Grynch steps in last with a fast and technical flow about paying dues in hip-hop and laying the groundwork for this new group’s bright future.
After hearing this single, I’m just gonna say it. If you don’t respect Northwest hip-hop, I cannot fuck with you.
“Scheduled to release their full length project on May 25th, Fearce, Grynch, and Grieves came together on this one to blow the speakers out on your mommas 1997 Toyota Corolla,” YouTube
