Gage Edwards is a rising hip-hop artist from the Seattle/Tacoma area who’s been on a steep rise ever since the release of his single “Dawson’s Interlude” in 2020. His first prominent showing came in 2018 with the album Too Late For Summer; a 10-track project with some dope mixes, such as “Weather” featuring Kota The Friend. Fast-forward three years and Gage has dropped his follow up Too Late For Summer 2, showing his growth and evolution in music.
A 14-track album, Too Late For Summer 2 is Gage Edwards’ big stepping out party as he gets ready to make his mark on the PNW hip-hop scene. With great mixing and mastering, this album is straight quality and provides a lot of insight into Gage as an artist.
Using a combination of singing/rapping, Gage Edwards melodically tells the story of his life and current come up. From sleepless nights to losing homies to the system, Edwards speaks his truth, flooding true emotion into every track.
“Never Going Back To Tomes I Was Sleeping In A Focus…”
Gage Edwards tapped in with some other notable local artists for Too Late For Summer 2 that add a brighter highlight to the Seattle/Tacoma area. Two of my favorite features come from Zayside in “Big Check” and Lewie in “No Sides.” The whole album is packed with vibes, but these two stood out as the first that I wanted to peep purely due to the features alone; and they certainly did not disappoint.
A couple of the fan favorites so far have been “Lead” and “Relate,” both are solo tracks from the project. “Lead” kicks off the album and sets the tone Too Late For Summer 2 with a smooth and sultry energy. “Relate” caught my ear as Gage’s hottest track on the album thanks to his singing ability. As soon as the track starts I’m transported to an L.A. beach-side road late at night just chilling.
