FreakNight 2018 is Back This October With a Crazy Lineup

USC Events released the FreakNight 2018 lineup, and it’s packed with highly talented mainstream and local artists. Known as Seattle’s very own Halloween extravaganza, FreakNight will be held at WaMu theater instead of the Tacoma Dome for the second year in a row. The event will take place on October 26th. Freaknight 2018 Headliners:

Marshmello

Marshmello, also known as Christopher Comstock, has been taking the electronic music scene by storm since 2013. The 26-year-old Philadelphia DJ is scheduled to headline at the fifth annual “Forbes Under 30 Summit.” Marshmello is #4 on Spotify’s list of most-streamed artists in the world.

 Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki, son of Hiroaki Aoki who founded the Japanese restaurant franchise called Benihana, has been making music since 1996. Aoki has done collaborations with many different kinds of musical artists such as Iggy Azalea, Fall Out Boy, Lil Jon, and LMFAO. Aoki is best known for throwing cakes into the crowd, also known as “getting caked.” Netflix came out with a documentary in 2016 on the 40-year-old DJ from Miami called “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead” that highlights his relationship with his father and how he reached the position he’s in today.

 Yellow Claw

Yellow Claw is a duo from Amsterdam that has been making music since 2010. The duo’s sound entails a variety of different genres such as house, dubstep, trap, hip-hop, etc. The duo which consists of Jim Asagier and Nizzle first gained popularity after throwing a party at Amsterdam’s hottest nightclub, the Jimmy Woo. The two Amsterdam DJ’s signed onto Diplo’s label, Mad Decent in 2013.

Knife Party

Knife Party is a duo from Australia that consists of Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen. The two have been making electro house and dubstep since 2002. They’ve collaborated with Steve Aoki, Sweedish House Mafia and other reputable names in the industry.

Freaknight 2018 Local Artist Spotlight:

KENDOLL

Kendoll is a local Seattle artist who started her music career at age 17 and has worked incredibly hard to be where she is today. She has a funky futuristic style to her that I am 100% here for.

Quackson is another Seattle local and a co-creator of Seattle music collective WAVES Presents. He has been consistent and groundbreaking in the electronic music scene in Seattle, with big-hitting bass productions a quick rise from performing small local shows to having his name included on lineups such as FreakNight and USC Loves You 2018.
