Florida might be firstly known for Disney, but it may as well be known for its huge music festivals as well. Looking to attend the biggest events of 2022? Check out our list of Florida music festivals that you still have time to attend this year.
2022 Florida Music Festivals
Okeechobee Fest: March 3-6
Located in Okeechobee, Florida
The first festival on our list is the Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival, and it’s coming up very soon. It is a four-day event with performances from many genres of music, featuring names like Tame Impala, Megen Thee Stallion, and Rezz. It is also a camping festival so if you can rough it, you can fully experience the night and day experience of the Okeechobee festivities.
If you love music, magic, and art, join in all the fun this March. The Respect My Region Team will be there covering the event, so stay tuned for our article detailing the 2022 experience.
ULTRA: March 25-March 27
Located in Miami, Florida
One of the biggest annual EDM festivals in Miami is the ULTRA Music Festival. Because the people behind ULTRA throw events in nearly every corner of the globe (for the last 20 years, at that), they have created countless world-renowned experiences. For instance, they’ve put on events in South Africa, South America, Thailand, Singapore, and Sydney just to name a few. Although tickets are often expensive, many attendees say it’s well worth the price.
Thunder Beats: Apr 22 – 24
Located in Pensacola, Florida
Thunder Beats Music Festival is a brand new EDM festival in Pensacola, Florida. That said, their newness doesn’t mean they don’t have big talent. With headliners like Steve Aoki, Marshmello, Kaskade, Deadmau5, Adventure Club, and Dillon Francis all in one place, it’s already a can’t-miss event!
The Thunder Beats Music Festival will be taking over the Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds for only three days, bringing the sound to the panhandle with state-of-the-art audio engineering, stage production, and pyrotechnics. The festival is said to be a totally immersive sonic and visual arts experience. The goal of the festival is to help the community and bring people of all walks of life together in peace, love, unity, and respect. Part of the proceeds of the festival will go to charities such as Wounded Warrior and more.
Sunfest: April 28-May 1st
Located in West Palm Beach, Florida
Sunfest is a more hip-hop and indie-focused event and will feature Polo G, Lil Wayne, Rainbow Kitten Suprise, and Sam Hunt as headliners. The event will have lots of vendors that offer cool jewelry, clothing, food, and more. It is a smaller event in South Florida that many locals attend. Tickets are relatively cheap so it usually has a younger corwd.
Sunset: May 27-29
Located in Tampa Florida
On Memorial Day weekend you can attend Sunset Music Festival to see performances from Bonnie x Clyde, Diplo, Borgore, Dillion Francis, and Wreckno. Hosted at Raymond James Stadium for three full days, it’s a prime location for locals and travelers alike. With every year growing in attendance, tickets might sell out faster than ever in 2022. You have to be 18+ to attend. Gates open at 4:00 PM and the event ends at 10:00 PM.
Hulaween: Oct 28-31
Located at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park, Florida
If you aren’t doing anything on Halloween and want to go to a jamming Florida music festival, Suwanee Hulaween is the place to be. The annual festival is hosted and partially performed by The String Cheese Incident and features multiple grand stages filled with fans dressed up for the event.
While there is no current lineup, Suwannee Hulaween‘s frequent attendees know that the music is one of many big parts of the event. Once you’ve been to Suwannee for the first time, you know then and there that you will be coming back again.
In short, Hulaween is much more than a festival – rather a community where people come together, forget about all the worries of the world, and dance the night away. The event hosts weddings, great musical acts, mysterious entertainment, and plenty of vendor booths to explore.
EDC Orlando: Nov 11-13
Located in Orlando, Florida
Although last on our list, it certainly would rank high on my personal list of best festivals ever. Although there is no lineup yet, if the 2022 event is anything like EDC Orlando’s 2021 fest, it is bound to be a blast. EDC Orlando has it all – from rides to epic stages to art installations and more. Water is actively accessible all around the event and there are emergency personnel ready to help whenever/wherever they’re needed. You can always expect big names to grace the stage of EDC Orlando, and electric energy that lights up the night. You’ll need at least two days to do everything because sometimes ride wait times are long and spending time at every booth and stage is essential.
As a VIP, it is an experience like no other. Free arts & crafts booths, preferable seating, and a wider food selection option make it well worth the price. And to clarify, preferable seating means it’s easier to get in the front of the concerts on certain stages where there’s seating provided to watch the brilliant performances.
