Florida has never had just one music scene. Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Orlando, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, Gainesville, Tallahassee, Fort Myers, Naples, Pensacola, and the Florida Keys all bring something different to the state’s musical identity.
Respect My Region is expanding its Florida music coverage, and we want to connect with the people building what comes next. We’re looking for rising artists, independent labels, producers, DJs, venues, nightclubs, concert promoters, festivals, recording studios, and event organizers across the state.
That includes hip-hop, R&B, electronic music, Latin music, Caribbean sounds, Afrobeats, dancehall, country, rock, punk, metal, indie, jazz, blues, reggae, and music that does not fit neatly inside an established category.
Florida already has the talent. RMR wants to help more people discover it.
Who Respect My Region Wants to Feature
We want to hear from Florida music professionals with something real happening.
That includes:
- Rising solo artists and groups
- Rappers, singers, bands, DJs, musicians, and producers
- Independent labels, collectives, and management teams
- Music venues, nightclubs, bars, and listening rooms
- Concert promoters and independent event organizers
- Festivals, showcases, open mics, and recurring music series
- Recording studios, engineers, photographers, and videographers
- Music-focused businesses and community organizations
- Established Florida artists beginning a new chapter
Follower count is not the only thing that matters.
We are looking for quality music, a clear story, consistent activity, strong visuals, live performances, local support, and evidence that an artist or organization is building something with purpose.
A developing artist with an engaged local audience may have a stronger story than someone with a large following and no real connection to Florida’s music community.
What We Want to Cover
Artists can submit:
- New singles
- Albums and EPs
- Music videos
- Florida tour dates
- Release parties
- Live sessions
- Collaborations
- Major career announcements
- Upcoming performances
- Stories tied to their city or community
Labels and collectives can introduce us to their rosters, new signings, compilations, showcases, release campaigns, and development plans.
Venues and clubs can send us concert calendars, local lineups, anniversary events, renovations, new concepts, and information about the music communities they support.
Promoters can share upcoming concerts, festivals, DJ events, listening parties, open mics, showcases, and recurring experiences that deserve more attention.
We want the release, but we also want the story behind it.
What part of Florida shaped the music? Who helped create it? What community is supporting it? What is the artist or organization building beyond a single song, show, or social media post?
Where We’re Looking
This is a statewide call for submissions.
South Florida
We want to hear from artists, labels, venues, and promoters throughout:
- Miami
- Miami Beach
- Wynwood
- Little Havana
- Hialeah
- Doral
- Homestead
- Fort Lauderdale
- Hollywood
- Pompano Beach
- Boca Raton
- West Palm Beach
South Florida’s music network reaches across hip-hop, Latin music, electronic music, Caribbean sounds, R&B, dancehall, Afrobeats, rock, indie music, and underground club culture.
Miami’s live-music landscape continues to evolve. Midline Miami opened in Wynwood in 2026 as a 1,000-capacity venue programmed for electronic music, rock, R&B, country, and other genres. Smaller independent concepts also remain important, including spaces such as The Boombox, which describes its mission as showcasing Miami’s underground music and arts community.
Central Florida
Our Central Florida coverage includes:
- Orlando
- Kissimmee
- Sanford
- Winter Park
- Daytona Beach
- Lakeland
- Ocala
- Melbourne
- Cocoa
- Space Coast communities
Orlando’s scene reaches well beyond theme-park entertainment. The city supports hip-hop, electronic music, Latin music, R&B, indie rock, punk, metal, country, and experimental sounds.
The Beacham, established in 1921, identifies itself as Orlando’s longest-running independent venue and remains part of Downtown Orlando’s live-music infrastructure.
We want to know about the smaller stages, developing artists, recurring events, creative collectives, and neighborhood scenes operating alongside the city’s major entertainment destinations.
Tampa Bay and Florida’s Gulf Coast
We’re looking for stories from:
- Tampa
- Ybor City
- St. Petersburg
- Clearwater
- Bradenton
- Sarasota
- Fort Myers
- Naples
- Cape Coral
Tampa Bay supports active communities around hip-hop, rock, punk, metal, electronic music, indie music, reggae, country, and Latin sounds.
The RITZ Ybor operates from a building originally constructed in 1917 and now serves as a Tampa concert and event venue in the center of Ybor City.
Large venues and nationally touring artists are only part of the story. We also want to hear from the independent promoters, neighborhood venues, local DJs, artists, and creative teams producing events throughout Tampa, St. Petersburg, and the Gulf Coast.
North Florida
Our North Florida coverage includes:
- Jacksonville
- St. Augustine
- Gainesville
- Tallahassee
- Pensacola
- Panama City
- Florida State and University of Florida communities
College towns, coastal cities, DIY spaces, independent venues, and regional touring routes all contribute to North Florida’s music identity.
The Listening Room presents intimate performances in Gainesville, St. Augustine, and Jacksonville through MusicGNV, with a focus on supporting local music communities.
North Florida has its own hip-hop, punk, hardcore, indie, country, rock, folk, reggae, metal, and alternative scenes. We want to connect with the people keeping those communities active.
Why RMR Is Expanding Across Florida
Florida music is often covered through major festivals, superstar artists, and nightlife destinations. Those stories matter, but they do not represent the entire state.
New music is being recorded every day. Independent labels are developing talent. Promoters are building local lineups. DJs are creating recurring parties. Venue owners are taking financial risks to keep stages open.
Much of that work receives limited attention outside its immediate city.
Respect My Region wants to document the people building momentum before the rest of the country catches up.
RMR has spent more than a decade covering regional culture, independent musicians, established artists, live events, festivals, venues, and the businesses surrounding music. Our goal is to develop relationships with the people who are actively recording, performing, producing, booking, promoting, and investing in their communities.

Florida, Show Us What We’re Missing
Florida’s next wave is not coming from one genre, city, neighborhood, or scene.
It is being built inside recording studios, independent venues, nightclubs, college towns, festivals, local showcases, release parties, and creative communities across the state.
If you are building something people should know about, send it to Respect My Region.
Artists, labels, venues, clubs, DJs, producers, promoters, festivals, studios, and event organizers are all invited to reach out.
Submit your story for editorial consideration or contact us about a custom paid feature, podcast episode, or promotional campaign.
Florida, show us who’s next.
