In only a matter of years, DJ Ellie Prohan has become an international sensation. She has hosted shows globally, from London to New York with an unmistakable and unique energy.
“I haven’t had caffeine in four years. I’ve realized that my natural organic energy is so high, if I added caffeine into that I would run into a brick wall. I get bursts of ideas all of the time. I love being active and feeling like I’ve got the most out of the day.”

DJ Ellie Prohan was raised in London by a single mother in a Persian household. With her unique background, there wasn’t anyone she could look up to who was like her.
“I think if I would have seen a female gay Middle Eastern woman in music, the cogs would have moved in my brain. Middle Eastern children, in general, are always expected to be doctors or lawyers or dentists.”

DJ Ellie Prohan Never Stops Making Moves
Since DJ Ellie Prohan came out as queer, she has poured all of her boundless energy into making the world a happier place. Her music is heavily influenced by hip-hop and R&B, and she uses her talents to bring awareness and inclusivity to her community.
DJ Ellie spends her time organizing events for World Mental Health Day and setting up club nights for the LGBTQIA+ community. She has also created a series of showcase nights and began her own cultural discovery show ‘Eat, Dance, Discover.’ In addition, she hosts the primetime ‘Happy Hour’ show on the award-winning and female-led station Foundation FM. Ellie also hosts her own Tuesday weekly specialist show on Kiss FM.
Despite her fame, DJ Ellie Prohan uses her success responsibly. “I feel like it’s a position of power. I’m in a position to be a representative to say, ‘You can be whatever you want in this life.’ You can be brave enough and strong enough to own it. There are queer representatives in this community but that’s only really been in the last few years. We have such a massive influence in being able to teach young people that you can explore who you are, and you don’t have to be what everyone wants you to be. You can really create waves with your voice.”
