Excision and Dion Timmer just released their most recent track on Christmas day, “Take Me Higher.” According to Dion, Take Me Higher was actually made about two years ago by the pair, but never released. Well, lucky for us, this Christmas the two of them felt like giving a yuletide gift.
“Happy Holidays and Merry Bass-Mas!! Here is a free tune with some chill vibes from Dion Timmer and myself! Thanks so much for all your support <3”

This melodic track is a little change of course for Excision’s usual dubstep headbanger tunes. It’s always interesting seeing what kind of music these to make together.
Given my taste for chill music, it’s fair to say I enjoyed this one. There are definitely some festive Christmas vibes that you can hear after the first drop, around one minute in. I wouldn’t say it’s a Christmas song, but maybe a little Christmas enthused.
Overall, Take Me Higher makes for a nice uplifting tune which isn’t quite a banger, but still definitely get your head nodding. I doubt if Excision will ever stray far from his dubstep roots. However, it’s still interesting getting to hear an artist try something new. Even if the track is two years old.
