Deadmau5 issued an update to his fans on Twitter this morning, informing them that he will be performing his upcoming shows in Europe after his sudden hiatus.
To recap, the DJ had several public outbursts on Twitter and on streams, causing him to seek mental health treatment. The first was when he tweeted a series of homophobic and transphobic statements in an argument with another Twitter user. The backlash caused deadmau5 to delete the tweets, and issue an apology to his fans. His apology states that the internet “took it somewhere unintended.”
i wasnt trying to make blatant transphobic statements, just got into a heated arguement with some dude online said something dumb and the internet took it way into somewhere unintended. I’ve since deleted the tweets, im not that kind of person. my apologies. https://t.co/eUJtjgmYAY

Then, just a few days later, deadmau5 was hosting a gaming stream when a Slushii song came on. He called the song “AIDS music” and “autistic shit” live on the stream. Later, Slushii responded saying that he is actually on the autistic spectrum.
as someone who’s actually on the autism spectrum, this is really disappointing @deadmau5 https://t.co/aCOa02p7Ck

Shortly after being called out for his damaging language, deadmau5 issued a statement letting fans know that he was seeking treatment for mental health issues. He has been on hiatus since then; it’s been about a month since we last heard an update.
To the relief of his long-time fans, the update from deadmau5 seems mostly positive. His European fans are especially thrilled with his response, since he confirmed that he will be performing his upcoming European shows as scheduled.
