Dave B has an incredibly unique voice. One of those that when you hear it, you know whose voice it is. Last year he teamed up with well known producer Sango to create Tomorrow. Eventually hitting the road early this year for a spring tour and also losing his laptop along the way.
He continued to release a string of singles over the past six months, including Only ft. Romaro Franceswa. They recorded the song together the day after both of their laptops were stolen. It wasn’t until now though that we realize the “unquantifiable intellectual property” that Dave was talking about, was his next album.
Without any foreshadowing Dave announced his new album Pearl with a feature in City Arts Magazine. Set to be released on November 17th, Jonathan Zwickel claims, “Everything Dave Bowman has done up to now has been in preparation for this moment.”
With the anticipation building for his new album we get some much needed relief with the release of the first single from his project. Premiering on Complex, Sweetest Thing gives us a doo-wop on the beach feeling.
