One of Seattle’s most treasured music festivals brought us some of the greatest artists in the modern day music scene. On Saturday the 2nd, Bumbershoot 2017 brought us Weezer, Dillon Francis, Lorde, Sofi Tukker, tyDi, Highly Suspect, and more!
At around 3 pm, Isaiah and I grabbed a quick bite at the Black Bear Diner in Federal Way before getting into our Airbnb on the north end of Seattle. After settling in for a few minutes, we headed over to the Seattle Center to get into the festival. While getting in, we were greeted by some of the nicest festival workers, who helped us out with answers to all our questions.
As we got in, we were given free items, most memorably the food. Clif Bars, Caramel M&M’s, and cold brew coffee were being handed out like it was going out of style. Our first act that we ended up seeing was Amine at the Key Arena. Shortly after, we went over to the Mainstage, which was at the Memorial Stadium, to see one of the most underrated rock bands to ever come out of the 2000’s.
Weezer at Memorial Stadium
Weezer is most known for their songs “Island In The Sun, Buddy Holly, and Beverly Hills.” Their most notable song they played in their set was their cover of Hey Ya! by the hip-hop group OutKast.
After Weezer, Isaiah and I explored the festival grounds, ate some Dicks, and saw what the festival had to offer. After roaming for a little bit, we went to catch Dillon Francis’ set at the Key Arena. Isaiah went up in the stands while I took pictures in front of the pit for the first 15 minutes of his set.
Dillon Francis at Key Arena
“My favorite part of the second day of Bumbershoot has got to be Dillon Francis. I’m such a superfan. It was great to hear my favorite tracks of his live again, including his new remix of Say Less with Moksi, who I have a lot of respect for. I’d definitely see Dillon Francis again no doubt. My favorite food from the festival that weekend at Bumbershoot was the gyros with the tzatziki sauce on it. Least favorite food was Dicks. Sorry, not a fan.” – Isaiah
