After a long hiatus, the Boom Bap Project is back and releasing music after over a decade. The OG Pacific Northwest hip-hop group’s most recent single released July 6th is titled ‘ Deion Sanders ‘ with the track included as the latest of three singles that have been released this year.
Produced by Seattle legend Vitamin D, this track holds the same classic PNW hip-hop sound from the 90’s and early 2000’s. Full of swagger and untouched bars, this group comes back with a powerful delivery. The lyrics are flawlessly utop intricate yet laid back production, which is crafted by the manipulation of multiple samples. Together, The Boom Bap Project and Vitamin D create a soulful and raw sound. Certainly a sound that we’ve all missed!
The single release also comes with a music video on YouTube. The simplistic style represents their main focus being on the music.

Their comeback came by surprise after 14 years, with their last release ‘The Shakedown’ being in 2007. The first of their 2021 singles was a song titled, ‘Haglers vs. Hearns’ released March 22nd. Following that was ‘Rain or Shine’ released May 25th. These three tracks are apart of their upcoming album ‘Return Flight’ which drops on August 13th, 2021.
Boom Bap Project consists of three PNW natives, Karim aka Nightclubber Lang, DJ Scene, and Destro. Originating in Seattle but now split between the 206 and Portland, the trio still holds the same musical chemistry that they started with. We hope that this music is just the start of their comeback!
